> **Scale Reference**: Strictly **1:12 Standard Dollhouse Scale** ($1" = 1\text{ foot}$ / $1\text{ inch} = 12\text{ inches}$)
> **Clear Room Ceiling Height**: Exactly **8" (8.00 inches)** ($8'0"$ real-life equivalent) per story
> **Material Specification**: **1/4" (0.25") Baltic Birch Plywood** throughout
> **Partition Joinery Method**: **1/8" (0.125") Deep × 1/4" (0.250") Wide Precision Grooves (Dados/Rabbets)** routed into floor decks and ceiling decks. Inner partition walls slide directly into the grooves, producing self-squaring, rock-solid joints with zero visible cleats!
> **Crucial Partition Height Engineering**:
> • Because each partition seats **1/8" (0.125")** into the floor deck groove below AND **1/8" (0.125")** into the ceiling deck groove above, the four interior partition panels (`D1-A`, `D1-B`, `D2-A`, `D2-B`) are cut to **8-1/4" (8.25") High**!
> • Calculation: $8.00" \text{ (clear ceiling)} + 0.125" \text{ (floor groove)} + 0.125" \text{ (ceiling groove)} = \mathbf{8.25" \ (8\text{-}1/4")}$.
> • *(If cut at 8.00", the partitions would only bridge 7-3/4" between the groove bottoms, reducing clear room height!)*
> **Overall Carcass Dimensions**: **32" Wide × 12" Deep × 24.90" High (32.00" W × 12.00" D × 24.90" H / 24-7/8" H)**
> **Equal Floor Span Alignment**:
> • **First Floor**: Living Room (**11-1/2" / 11.50"**) + Kitchen (**11-1/2" / 11.50"**) + Foyer (**8" / 8.00"**) = **31" (31.00") net room space** ($31-1/2"$ between gables, **32" carcass**)
> • **Second Floor**: Bathroom (**6" / 6.00"**) + Women Room (**12-1/2" / 12.50"**) + Mans Room (**12-1/2" / 12.50"**) = **31" (31.00") net room space** ($31-1/2"$ between gables, **32" carcass**)
> **Two Base Levels**:
> • **Level 0 (Landscape Area Plinth)**: **48" Wide × 32" Deep (48.00" × 32.00")** (provides 8 ft / 8" landscaped grounds all around with lawn, flagstone walkway, garden beds, side garden bench, and terrace)
> • **Level 1 (House Dedicated Base Platform)**: **32" Wide × 12" Deep (32.00" × 12.00")** (clean rectangular plate; elevated 1/2" / 0.50" on stone watertable foundation rim; direct front entry steps; zero porch)
> **Roof Structure & Framed Rear Attic Roofline (20% Height Reduction)**:
> • **Front Roof (E1)**: Continuous unbroken solid slope (**32" W × 12-1/16" Run / 32.00" × 12.04"**, 54.5° pitch, 8.40" peak rise, 1" front eave overhang, flush with 32" carcass gables)
> • **Rear Roof Slope (E2)**: Matching slope (**32" W × 12-1/16" Run / 32.00" × 12.04"**) featuring a prominent **27" W × 8.40" Alt triangular peek-in cutout** that restores the classic gable roofline from the backview while providing direct, unobstructed hand access into the finished 3rd floor cathedral attic!
> **Identical Standard 1:12 Windows (All 7 Window Units)**:
> • **Hole Size (Rough Opening)**: Exactly **2-1/4" Wide × 5" High (2.25" × 5.00")**
> • **Frame with Flange**: Exterior casing with **1/8" (0.125") flange lip** all around = **2-1/2" Wide × 5-1/4" High (2.50" × 5.25")**
> • **Total Window Count**: **7 identical sets** across the house (5 on front facade + 1 on left gable + 1 on right gable)
> **Front Window Placement & Symmetrical Centering**:
> • **Living Room (1st fl)**: Centered in 11-1/2" Living Room at **X = 6" (6.00")** ($X = 4-7/8"$ to $7-1/8"$, $Y = 1-1/2"$ to $6-1/2"$).

## 2. Master Rough Opening & Cartesian Cutout Schedule

Every cutout is measured from the bottom-left corner of the respective flat panel before assembly.
> [!NOTE]
> On the partition walls (`D1-A`, `D1-B`, `D2-A`, `D2-B`), the total panel height is **8-1/4" (8.25")**. Because the bottom **1/8" (0.125")** seats down into the floor groove, the vertical cutouts for the walkthroughs and doors begin **1/8" above the bottom panel edge** ($Y = 1/8"$) so that the finished openings start exactly flush with the finished floor!

## 3. 1/8" (0.125") Deep Groove (Dado) Routing & Alignment Specification

### 3.1 Engineering Rationale & Benefits
By routing **1/8" (0.125") deep grooves** into the floor and ceiling decks:
1. **Self-Squaring Automatic Alignment**: The partition panels drop directly into the straight channels. There is zero guessing, measuring, or slipping when clamping.
2. **Elimination of Clunky Interior Cleats**: Interior rooms remain completely clean and realistic at the floor and ceiling corners—no 1/4" wooden corner strips cluttering baseboards or crown molding.
3. **Rigid Structural Interlock**: The 1/8" tongue in the deck creates a mechanical interlocking box beam structure, preventing any long-term sagging or bowing of the 32" floor decks.
4. **Preservation of 8.00" Clear Ceiling**:
 - Bottom tongue in floor deck: $+0.125" \ (+1/8")$
 - Top tongue in ceiling deck: $+0.125" \ (+1/8")$
 - Net clear visible ceiling height: $8.000" \ (8")$
 - **Total Partition Panel Height**: $\mathbf{8.00" + 0.125" + 0.125" = 8.25" \ (8\text{-}1/4")}$.

### 3.2 Master Groove Layout & Fence Setting Schedule

All measurements are indexed from the **Left Outer Edge ($X = 0$)** of the 32.00" wide deck panels. Both edges of the deck should be marked with a reference line indicating the FRONT ($Z = 0$) to maintain identical orientation when cutting top and underside faces.

#### 3.3.1 Vertical Front Corner Edge Rabbet (On B1 and B2)
* **Location**: Machined down the front vertical edge ($Z = 0$) on the **inside face** of both Left Gable `B1` and Right Gable `B2`.
* **Ruler Dimensions**: Exactly **1/4" Wide (0.250") × 1/8" Deep (0.125")**.
* **Vertical Run**: From the bottom baseline ($Y = 0"$) up to the eave transition line ($Y = 16-1/2" / 16.50"$) where the roof pitch begins.
* **Architectural Purpose**:
 - The left and right vertical edges of Front Facade `C1` drop into these 1/8" recessed shoulders.
 - **Raw Edge Concealment**: From the side of the house, the raw edge of the front plywood facade is completely hidden behind the 1/8" outer lip of the gable wall.
 - **Light-Tight Interlock**: Prevents miniature interior lighting from escaping through corner gaps.
 - **Automatic Squaring**: The 90° shoulder mechanically squares the carcass during front wall installation.

#### 3.3.2 Horizontal Deck Housing Rabbets & Dados (On B1 and B2)
Machining horizontal channels across the inside face of `B1` and `B2` supports the floor decks directly without requiring any interior support cleats:
1. **Base Deck Rabbet (`A1`)**: Cut a $1/4" \text{ wide} \times 1/8" \text{ deep}$ step along the bottom edge ($Y = 0"$ to $1/4"$) across the full 12" width ($Z = 0"$ to $12"$). The Base Plate `A1` seats into this bottom shoulder.
2. **Second Floor Deck Dado (`A2`)**: Cut a $1/4" \text{ wide} \times 1/8" \text{ deep}$ horizontal groove from $Y = 8-1/4"$ to $8-1/2"$ ($Z = 0"$ to $12"$). Deck `A2` slides directly into this channel.
3. **Attic Floor Deck Dado (`A3`)**: Cut a $1/4" \text{ wide} \times 1/8" \text{ deep}$ horizontal groove from $Y = 16-1/4"$ to $16-1/2"$ ($Z = 0"$ to $12"$). Deck `A3` slides directly into this channel.

#### 3.3.3 Companion Outer End Edge Rabbets (On Decks A1, A2, A3)
* **Location**: Left outer edge ($X = 0"$ to $1/4"$) and Right outer edge ($X = 31-3/4"$ to $32"$) across the 12" depth ($Z = 0"$ to $12"$).
* **Ruler Dimensions**: **1/4" Wide × 1/8" Deep**.
* **Deck Faces**:
 - `A1` (Base Plate): Machined on the **Top Face**.
 - `A2` (2nd Floor Deck): Machined on **Both Top Face & Underside**.
 - `A3` (Attic Floor Deck): Machined on the **Underside**.
* **Tongue-and-Rabbet Lock**: When both deck ends and side walls are rabbeted, they form an interlocking ship-lap joint that can be glued and clamped with zero fasteners!

### 3.4 Workshop Execution & Tooling Instructions for Rabbets & Dados

#### Method 1: Table Saw with Sacrificial Sub-Fence (Fastest for Edge Rabbets)
1. **Attach Auxiliary Fence**: Clamp or screw a sacrificial piece of 3/4" scrap plywood or MDF to your table saw rip fence.
2. **Bury the Blade**: With the saw blade running at 1/8" (0.125") height, slowly slide the rip fence over until the outer teeth of the 1/8" blade cut slightly into the sacrificial wood, leaving exactly **1/4" (0.250")** of blade kerf exposed between the blade and the fence face.
3. **Cut Vertical Corner Rabbet**: Lay side wall `B1` flat on the saw table with its inside face up and its front vertical edge against the fence. Feed smoothly using a push block to cut the 1/4" W × 1/8" D rabbet in a single, dead-accurate pass! Repeat for `B2`.
4. **Cut Deck Outer End Rabbets**: Use the same fence setup to cut the 1/4" W × 1/8" D end rabbets on `A1`, `A2`, and `A3` by feeding the 12" ends against the fence with a miter gauge.

#### Method 2: Router Table with Bearing-Guided Rabbeting Bit
1. **Bit & Bearing Setup**: Chuck a bearing-guided rabbeting bit equipped with the bearing that yields a **1/4" depth of cut**.
2. **Height Adjustment**: Adjust bit height above table surface to exactly **1/8" (0.125")**.
3. **Routing Sequence**: Feed the workpiece from right to left, keeping firm, flat downward pressure against the tabletop and fence. The pilot bearing controls the exact 1/4" width automatically.

#### Method 3: Router Table with 1/4" Down-Cut Spiral Bit (For Internal Dados & Grooves)
1. Chuck a 1/4" solid carbide down-cut spiral bit set to 1/8" cutting height.
2. Set router fence to the respective deck baseline ($0"$, $8-1/4"$, $16-1/4"$) or divider centerline.
3. Use a featherboard to maintain uniform 1/8" depth across the full cut length without tearout.

#### The "Test Scrap" Fitting Rule
> [!IMPORTANT]
> **Verify Fit with Plywood Offcut**: Baltic birch plywood imported as 1/4" is manufactured to metric specifications (nominal 6 mm = $0.236"$). Always route a short test groove/rabbet into a piece of scrap material and test-fit an offcut of your actual wall or deck panel. The panel should slide smoothly with light thumb pressure and stand upright on its own without wobbling or binding!

### Phase 2: Bench Grooving & Cutout Phase (Crucial: Work Flat BEFORE Assembly!)
> [!IMPORTANT]
> **Never attempt to route grooves or cut windows after carcass assembly.** All routing, grooving, and piercing must occur flat on the workbench.

1. **Route 1/8" Floor & Ceiling Grooves (Dados)**:
 - On top of `A1`: Route two $1/4" \times 1/8"$ grooves at $X = 11-3/4"$ (for `D1-A`) and $X = 23-1/2"$ (for `D1-B`).
 - On underside of `A2`: Route two $1/4" \times 1/8"$ grooves at $X = 11-3/4"$ and $X = 23-1/2"$ (1st fl ceiling channels).
 - On top of `A2`: Route two $1/4" \times 1/8"$ grooves at $X = 6-1/4"$ (for `D2-A`) and $X = 19"$ (for `D2-B`).
 - On underside of `A3`: Route two $1/4" \times 1/8"$ grooves at $X = 6-1/4"$ and $X = 19"$ (2nd fl ceiling channels).
2. **Route 1/8" Side Wall Edge Rabbets & Dados**:
 - On Left Gable `B1` & Right Gable `B2`: Route a **1/4" W × 1/8" D vertical front corner rabbet** along the front inside edge ($Z = 0$, $Y = 0"$ to $16-1/2"$) to interlock Front Facade `C1`.
 - On `B1` & `B2`: Route horizontal **1/4" W × 1/8" deck housing rabbets/dados** across the inside face at $Y = 0" \text{ to } 1/4"$ (`A1` base), $Y = 8-1/4" \text{ to } 8-1/2"$ (`A2` 2nd fl), and $Y = 16-1/4" \text{ to } 16-1/2"$ (`A3` attic).
 - On Decks `A1`, `A2`, `A3`: Route **1/4" W × 1/8" D outer end edge rabbets** across left ($X = 0 \text{ to } 1/4"$) and right ($X = 31-3/4" \text{ to } 32"$) ends.
3. **Execute Architectural Cutouts**:
 - Front Facade `C1`: Birch Front Door ($2-3/4" \times 6-3/4"$) centered at $X = 26-1/2"$, plus 5 identical standard windows ($2-1/4" \times 5"$) at Living ($X = 6"$), Kitchen ($X = 16"$), Bathroom ($X = 3-1/4"$), Women Room ($X = 12-3/4"$), and Mans Room ($X = 26-1/2"$).
 - Left Gable `B1`: Living Room window ($2-1/4" \times 5"$) centered at $Z = 6"$. (Leave 2nd floor solid).
 - Right Gable `B2`: Foyer window ($2-1/4" \times 5"$) centered at $Z = 9"$. (Leaves 1-7/8" clear of stairs; leave 2nd floor solid).
 - 1st Fl Dividers `D1-A` & `D1-B`: Walkthrough openings ($3" \times 6-1/2"$), offset $1/8"$ up from bottom panel edge.
 - 2nd Fl Dividers `D2-A` & `D2-B`: Doorway cutouts ($3-7/16" \times 6-5/16"$), offset $1/8"$ up from bottom panel edge (cutout at $Z = 3-1/2"$ on `D2-A`).
 - 2nd Fl Deck `A2`: Stair opening ($2-1/4" \times 6"$) along right front corner ($X = 29-1/2"$ to $31-3/4"$, $Z = 0"$ to $6"$).
 - Rear Roof Slope `E2`: Cutout **27" Base × 8.40" Altitude Triangular Cutout** ($X = 2-1/2"$ to $29-1/2"$) along slope, leaving 2-1/2" left/right wings and a 3-5/8" solid ridge header.

---

### Phase 3: Pre-Finishing, Interior Walls & Flooring
1. **Ceilings**: Paint underside of `A2` (1st fl ceiling) and `A3` (2nd fl ceiling) flat ceiling white. Tape off the 1/4" routed grooves so bare wood is preserved for glue!
2. **Interior Wall Finishing**: Paint or wallpaper inside surfaces of `B1`, `B2`, `C1`, and both faces of `D1-A`, `D1-B`, `D2-A`, `D2-B`. Keep top and bottom 1/8" tongues bare wood.
3. **Deck Flooring Installation**:
 - Scribe and adhere miniature hardwood planking to Living Room and Kitchen zones on `A1`.
 - Adhere checkerboard tile flooring to Foyer zone on `A1`.
 - Install hardwood flooring to Women and Mans room zones on `A2`.
 - Install ceramic mosaic tile to Bathroom zone on `A2`.
 - *Ensure flooring does not cover or encroach upon the 1/4" routed grooves!*

---

### Phase 4: Base Foundation & Sub-Structure Assembly
1. **Ground Plinth (`A0`)**: Sand edges of $48" \times 32"$ plinth. Mark out centered $32" \times 12"$ house footprint.
2. **House Base (`A1`)**:
 - Build clean $32" \times 12"$ rectangular platform plate `A1`.
 - Attach $1/2"$ tall perimeter cleats beneath `A1` to form raised watertable foundation rim.
 - Texture rim with faux stone/brick mortar effect.
3. **Secure Base Plate**: Glue and clamp `A1` permanently onto `A0`.

---

### Phase 5: First Floor Carcass & Partition Slide-In Assembly
1. **Erect Exterior Walls with Interlocking Edge Rabbets**:
 - Apply wood glue into the bottom edge rabbets ($1/4" \times 1/8"$) of Left Gable `B1` and Right Gable `B2`.
 - Seat `B1` and `B2` over the outer ends of Base Deck `A1`.
 - Apply wood glue into the vertical front corner rabbets ($1/4" \times 1/8"$) running up the inside front edges of `B1` and `B2`.
 - Seat Front Facade `C1` into the corner rabbets. The 1/8" shoulders automatically pull the entire front carcass 90° square, concealing raw front plywood edges!
 - Clamp square with corner clamping blocks. Verify diagonal corner-to-corner ($34.18"$).
2. **Slide In Interior Partitions (`D1-A` & `D1-B`)**:
 - Run a thin bead of PVA wood glue into the bottom 1/8" grooves on `A1` at $X = 11-3/4"$ and $X = 23-1/2"$.
 - Slide Living/Kitchen divider `D1-A` and Kitchen/Foyer divider `D1-B` into the grooves from the open rear of the house until they meet the front wall.
 - Glue front edge of dividers to inside of `C1`.
 - *Result*: Partitions stand rigidly upright and square automatically without any need for visible support cleats!

---

### Phase 6: Fireplace & Staircase Sub-Assemblies & Installation
1. **Foyer Fireplace Assembly**:
 - Build $5" \text{ Wide} \times 1-1/2" \text{ Deep} \times 4-1/2" \text{ High}$ brick fireplace on the bench.
 - Glue against kitchen divider `D1-B` ($Z = 1/2"$ to $5-1/2"$) facing into Foyer.
2. **Foyer Staircase Assembly**:
 - Build 2" wide stringer flight with 12 steps ($11/16"$ rise, $1/2"$ run).
 - Position against right gable `B2`: bottom step lands at $Z = 6"$ (mid-depth), top step arrives at $Z = 0"$ (front wall).
 - Verify $1-7/8"$ of clear solid wall forward of the Foyer window at $Z = 9"$. Glue staircase in place.

---

### Phase 7: Second Floor Deck, Partitions & Bathroom Outfitting
1. **Install Second Floor Deck (`A2`)**:
 - Apply wood glue along top edges of `B1`, `B2`, `C1`, and into the underside ceiling grooves of `A2`.
 - Slide `A2` into place from the rear. The underside grooves seat down over the top edges of `D1-A` and `D1-B`, and the stair opening aligns over the stairs.
 - Clamp firmly until cured.
2. **Slide In 2nd Floor Partitions (`D2-A` & `D2-B`)**:
 - Apply glue into top floor grooves of `A2` at $X = 6-1/4"$ and $X = 19"$.
 - Slide Bath/Women divider `D2-A` and Women/Mans divider `D2-B` into place.
 - Pre-hang authentic 1:12 interior doors ($6-5/16" \times 3-7/16"$) with brass hardware.
3. **Install Mans Room Stair Guardrail**:
 - Install turned wood balusters and handrails around stair well opening.
4. **Install Bathroom Suite (While Room is Completely Accessible!)**:
 - Clawfoot bathtub placed along the **front wall** ($Z = 0"$ to $2.2"$) under the front window ($X = 3-1/4"$).
 - Pedestal sink and wall mirror mounted on solid left gable wall ($Z = 4-1/2"$), directly in front of the doorway on `D2-A`.
 - Vintage toilet with overhead tank mounted on solid left gable wall ($Z = 8-1/2"$ to $11"$), tucked securely behind the door swing.

---

### Phase 8: Attic Floor Deck & Roof Structure
1. **Install Attic Floor Deck (`A3`)**:
 - Apply glue into underside ceiling grooves of `A3` at $X = 6-1/4"$ and $X = 19"$, and along gable wall eave lines ($Y = 16-1/2"$).
 - Drop solid $32" \times 12"$ deck `A3` into place, seating its grooves over `D2-A` and `D2-B`.
2. **Front Roof Slope (`E1`)**:
 - Glue continuous solid panel `E1` ($32" \times 12-1/16"$) across front rafters/gables flush with side gables and 1" front eave overhang.
3. **Rear Roof Slope (`E2`) with Hands-On Peek-In Cutout**:
 - Position panel `E2` ($32" \times 12-1/16"$) on the rear slope. The triangular cutout ($27" \text{ base} \times 8.40" \text{ altitude}$) preserves the authentic roofline wings (2-1/2" each side) and eaves while maintaining complete, unobstructed hands-on reach into the finished 3rd-floor cathedral attic.
 - Glue `E2` securely along the left and right gable rafter edges and ridge line.
 - Cap the ridge line with a 32" decorative ridge board along the peak of `E1` and `E2`.

---
